Lyle Wells

Board of Directors

 

Lyle Wells is an 11th-generation farmer and owner-manager of Wells Homestead Acres, a 100-acre family farm located in Riverhead Township, New York. The farm specializes in potatoes, cut flowers and vegetables, most notably, asparagus.

 

Mr. Wells is a past president of the Long Island Farm Bureau. In 1998, he was honored with the “Amherst Davis Memorial Farmer Citizen of the Year Award.”

 

He currently sits on the First Pioneer Farm Credit Board of Directors, Riverhead Town Planning Board and chairs the Farmland Preservation and Agricultural Advisory Committee. He is active in the New York State Vegetable Growers Association.

 

Mr. Wells resides in Riverhead with his three children, Jessica (23), Mathew (18) and Logan (7).
