Jessica Anson
NY Farm Bureau Scholarship Honoree 2012

Cornell in May 2015, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Natural Resources focusing on resource policy management and a minor in Applied Economics and Management.

This past spring I spent a semester abroad in New Zealand at the EcoQuest Education Foundation, where I conducted a research project to create a site management plan and biodiversity survey of a wetland site.  I consulted with stakeholders including indigenous peoples, local farmers, Department of Conservation and political figures to synthesize a management plan that managed livestock and invasive plants, respected the interests of stakeholders and encouraged community involvement and stewardship.

During the semester in Ithaca I worked as a marketing and outreach assistant at Finger Lakes ReUse, Inc.  I assisted with communications between the organization and community members, supporters, customers and local institutions including program partners and funders. Additionally, I drafted communication materials including letters, brochures and press releases while designing marketing and education materials.

My current job search as a senior has been focused on careers in the agribusiness industry and agricultural or environmental consulting fields.
